Signature Furniture, Inc., under the guidance of Bob Schmidt, furniture designer/maker, has been producing finely crafted furniture, cabinets, and doors out of solid hardwoods for over twenty-five years. The years have seen many changes in the evolution of what Signature Furniture is today. But two aspects remain the same: the product quality and service to our customers' discriminating tastes. Our products are carefully orchestrated from drawing board designs to workbench to customer. Our customers recognize and enjoy fine craftsmanship from beautiful materials and a product that is guaranteed—guaranteed for the life of the original owner. Bob Schmidt, practicing building contractor and design/maker of fine crafted furniture and cabinets, has worked on national projects in urban renewal and office furniture design. Educated at Jacksonville University and the University of North Florida, he holds a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision and a BA in Psychology and Sociology. He has gutted many old buildings over the last twenty five years and has brought them back to life in the form of studios, retail shops, and private residences. His work has been featured in Fine Woodworking: Design Book IV, Timber Homes Illustrated, Building Systems Magazine, and Colorado Community Guide. Schmidt's studio, gallery and residence in Silverton, Colorado, received the first place award for the 2002 Excellence in Model Home Design sponsored by the National Association of Homebuilders and Building Systems Magazine. His model is a Riverbend Timber Framing house, showroom, and shop located at the terminus of the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway in Silverton, Colorado. Schmidt's winter studio in St. Augustine, Florida, opens in January, 2008.
